Instructor: Jack Zhou

Owner, A & J Energy Consultants | Master Energy Advisor | Qualified Net Zero Trainer

 

Jack Zhou has been involved in the building science and energy efficiency sector since 2004, specializing in low-rise residential construction. Over the years, Jack gained hands-on experience as a framer, insulator, drywaller, and HVAC installer. He also performed energy simulations for homes early in his career. Building on this foundation, Jack went on to earn the HRAI Residential Air System Design Technician and Residential Hydronics Design Technician certifications, allowing him to design advanced HVAC systems and conduct energy audits for existing homes. 

Today, Jack shares his expertise in energy-efficient construction techniques through partnerships with various organizations, colleges, and universities, delivering training programs across Ontario, British Columbia, and internationally, including in the Republic of China and South Korea. Jack also actively contributes to technical committees for organizations such as the OHBA, CHBA, EnerQuality Corp, NRCan, and CACEA, and plays a role in the development of ENERGY STAR® for New Homes standards.

Jack is passionate about driving the transition to sustainable housing and finding cost-effective solutions for energy-efficient construction.
